Will gladly send a copy early next week, Ruth! I did learn a lot on my travels, but the real heroes of the book are the people who built so many amazing and enduring church traditions. William Penn, of Pennsylvania fame, was one of my favourite characters – there’s so much history here yet we rarely celebrate it.

Thanks for the review Ruth – I would like to send you a complimentary copy of the book at once! Many holy sites in Britain are of direct relevance to the churches in America (you can still visit the very room in which the earliest Baptist church meetings took place, for example, or touch the timbers of the Mayflower itself). I am visiting the MET in NYC next week and I am hoping to see as many biblical artificats contained there as possible. Do you know of any guides or tours or information that would list the significant artificats held at that museum? Thanks. Andrew
